We are dedicated to helping people with MS, carers and families affected by MS. We can help with 1:1 support, information, exercise groups and social groups. We cover a large area in and around Bath including BA1, BA2, Keynsham, Saltford, Midsomer Norton, Radstock, Peasedown St. John, Bradford-on-Avon, Westbury, Trowbridge, Warminster and Frome.

Citizens Advice Mendip – MS Advisor
The Mendip Multiple Sclerosis Society Group has secured a partnership with Citizens Advice Mendip that will provide access to professional and informed help on a variety of matters including –
Assistance with claiming benefits, help with debt resolution, issues at work or dealing with discrimination and advice on housing, healthcare and education.

Harry’s Hydro
Harry’s Hydro is a hydrotherapy pool based in Frome.
Individual led sessions are available. Other people will be in the pool at the same time doing their own exercises. Cost per session is £9 for an initial session then £90 for ten sessions to be paid in advance if wishing to continue.
You can also join hydrotherapy group exercise classes. A taster session costs £10. Future sessions need to be booked in groups of 10 and paid for in advance.

Headway Somerset
Headway Somerset supports individuals with acquired brain injury (ABI) and their families. They offer: Information, Practical Advice, A listening ear and time to talk, Specialist services to aid your recovery – including Rehabilitation Centres, one to one support in the community as well as relatives support groups and a volunteer Buddy project to help you link with your community and your interests.
Talking Café held in Haskins Café- Shepton Mallet 10-11:30 on the third Thursday of the month. For anyone looking for information , who has a personal experience, supports someone or is a professional with questions. All welcome, no need to book.

Mendip Branch of Multiple Sclerosis Society
Whether you have MS, or care about someone who does, join our group to connect with other people from the community and share experiences. We don’t want anyone to face MS alone. From information on local services to opportunities to meet others in the area and more, our group is part of a large network of MS Society groups across the UK. We hope to meet you soon!

Mendip Branch Parkinson’s UK
We offer information, friendship and support to local people with Parkinson’s, their friends, families and carers. Join us at our friendly group meeting. We often have speakers and there’s always chance for a chat and to meet friends old and new over a cuppa. We also organise regular events and social activities. The hall is accessible with parking.
We meet monthly on the second Wednesday from 2.30pm-4.30pm at Bovemoor sheltered Housing Scheme Street. Strode Road, Street, BA16 0DY. There is no charge. Do call Janet for more information.

Motor Neurone Disease – Local NHS Support Somerset
A diagnosis of motor neurone disease (MND) can often take a long time to confirm. We provide a range of tests, often on a repeated basis on the nerves and muscles, to diagnose this condition.
If you or a member of your family is diagnosed, we will co-ordinate your care here in the neurology department. We monitor and support you with help from a team of health professionals in speech, diet, eating, breathing support and physiotherapy.

Motor Neurone Disease Support Group
Regular Support Group meetings where people with MND and their carers, family and friends have the opportunity to meet with other people living with the disease and to share the experience in a positive and friendly atmosphere. The meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of every month from 2.30 – 4.00pm at the Palmers garden centre cafe Yeovil. For more information please contact John Hayward.

Stroke Association ‘Here For You’ Telephone support service
If you or someone you know has had a stroke, a weekly phone conversation with one of our trained volunteers can help you to rebuild your life after stroke. Talking things through on the phone can build confidence. It can help you feel more connected, supported and able to take the next step in your recovery.
For eight weeks, a volunteer will chat with you for around 30 minutes. If you speak limited English we’ve volunteers who can support you in different languages, just let us know. There is ashort online form to complete, use the link below.
