Accommodation Information for Rough Sleepers

If you are concerned about someone sleeping rough on the streets, there are some local organisations that can give advice.
Connect Community Church (based at Wells) runs Drop-In’s during the week and has a seven-bed Hostel provision for the Somerset East rough sleepers which provides accommodation as a stepping stone into longer term housing. You can call them on 01749 677097 or visit their website HERE
They also have a drop-in during the week for people sleeping rough.
  • Monday: Breakfast Drop-In 9am -11am
    with Showers, Mail collection and SWISH Support once a month
  • Tuesday: Wellbeing Drop-In In 11am-1pm
    with Health Clinic and Signposting service (Outreach Nurse for RS)
  • Thursday: Wellbeing Drop-In 10am -12am
  • Friday: Soup and Music Jam 12am -2pm
    Hair cuts available every six weeks

Homelessness support and advice for young people from YMCA Mendip. 

Young people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness can access support by calling 01749 679553 or visiting the YMCA website HERE

An emergency shelter is opened in Mendip when the temperature reaches or is expected to fall below 0 degrees for three consecutive nights. Please contact the places above for details or visit Street Link website HERE
