Exciting Work Opportunity as a Connector Trainer

Exciting Work Opportunity as a Connector Trainer Freelance work oppertunity – March 2024. Mendip based

Mendip GP practices have a team of Social Prescribing Link Workers and Health Coaches, called Health Connectors, who support people with non-medical issues. Health Connections Mendip also trains people in the community as ‘Connectors’. Connectors signpost friends, family, neighbours and strangers to places where they can find out about support in their community. We have trained over 2,000 Community Connectors and we are seeking someone to help take this nationally and internationally recognised ‘Connector’ work to the next level.

The work involves training community members as Connectors, developing new training, supporting the spread of the training across Mendip, leading on the programme’s publicity, outreach, monitoring and evaluation and providing the training.

Our ideal candidate will be an experienced trainer and have experience of community development. The work is ever evolving so a can-do attitude and ability to feel comfortable with change and innovation is essential.

The work is freelance and therefore home based. However, regular catch-up times will happen at Frome Medical Practice (this may occasionally be virtual). The work will involve liaising with the Health Connections teams which cover the GP practices in Frome, Coleford, Shepton Mallet, Oakhill, Wells, Street and Glastonbury.

Length of engagement: 12 months.

• Days of work: 22.5 hours a week. • Pay: £15 per hour. • Freelance

• Work is hybrid with home working and days at Health Connections bases across Mendip
