There are lots of ways you can get support and find out about opportunities for you. The Health Connections social prescribing and health coaching team works alongside your medical practice. You could start by searching our online directory to find out about support in your area.
If you’re in Shepton Mallet, or the surrounding villages you might like to visit one of our regular Talking Cafes in Shepton Mallet, Coleford or Evercreech?
Alternatively, many people benefit from attending our Be Healthy, Be Happy group sessions, which we run regularly in Shepton Mallet, Oakhill and Coleford. Our aim is to support you in making sustainable changes that matter to you.
You may prefer to see a Health Connector for a one-to-one appointment, on the phone or in person. You might even be interested in volunteering in your community and training as a Community Connector.

Health Connector Caroline leads a beginners Health Walk in Collett Park, Shepton Mallet every Tuesday morning at 10 am.
Health Walks are regular walks in local communities, with the aim of supporting health and general wellbeing, including improved mood, social connection, better sleep and weight management.
The walks range from gentle, to more moderate and advanced – and also take place in Wells, Street, Frome and across other parts of Mendip.
The Health Walk programme in Somerset is hosted by Somerset Activity & Sports Partnership and details of all walks in the local area are listed on their website.
We run regular groups in Central Mendip to support people with a range of health conditions, who experience persistent pain. This course is designed to help you learn the skills you need to confidently manage your pain.
Group sessions are delivered by 2 of our Health Coaches and feature content developed by 10 Footsteps to Living Well with Pain

Health Connections run a postcard project for anyone registered at a GP Practice within the Mendip Primary Care network, this includes Grove House Surgery, Park Medical Practice, Oakhill Surgery, Mendip Country Practice and Beckington Family Practice.
