Volunteer as a Town Ranger
The Council has been taking on more and more of the open spaces around town – many of them natural environments. It is in these spaces we hope to work with volunteers using traditional methods such as scything, mowing and hedge-laying to manage the land. We will meet once a week, on a week-day. From 10am to 3pm, with tea and lunch breaks.
We are looking for people who are fit enough to safely do the days’ work (or will be, with a bit of time) but the opportunity is open to any adult over 16 who wishes to take part.
We hope this group will not only help us manage the land, but also help people stay active, learn new skills and meet new people! If you want to volunteer in this capacity then please do get in touch. Michael Gerrard.
